Upcoming Grants in NYC!

It's grant season, so time to put on your writing hats! From community gardens, to special cooking equipment and obesity prevention, we've compiled some great opportunities all over the city (and nationally!) to help you improve meals at your school or center, and continue to fight the good fight for better food for all kids!

This mini grant is an opportunity for community gardens interested in growing fresh food and distributing it in the surrounding neighborhoods of Brownsville and East Harlem! Through Building Healthy Communities, The Mayor’s Fund will award up to five grants of up to $5,000.00 each to community garden groups across Brownsville and East Harlem in total, and up to two grants of up to $10,000.00 each across Brownsville and East Harlem in total.

National School Lunch Program (NSLP) Equipment Assistance Grant 

The School Food Service Equipment Grant is designed for schools (School Food Authorities) who receive NSLP funding to improve the infrastructure of the school (and kitchen). Schools purchase equipment to serve healthier meals that meet the updated meal patterns, improve the overall quality of meals, improve efficiency of production and service and expand participation in school meals programs. Total Funds Available: $1,692,719
